Welcome to LucieXYZ online photography studio.

So you want to know more about us? The pictures aren’t enough? Of course not, there is always more to know. Well let us tell you a little bit more about your soon to be wedding (and children) photographers.

We are Lucie and Sam Silveira and have been married since 2003 and loving life together every day. We live happily together in our little nook of the world in Santa Clara which is right down the street from our Studio. Together we started the photography business to set free Lucie’s artistic eye and passion for wedding and children photography. The name LucieXYZ originates of course from Lucie’s name who is the magic behind the photography you see. The slogan, “Music for your eyes…”, is how Lucie wants the photos to sing to you when you view them.

When we started designing the path for LucieXYZ Photography, it was important for us to design the business in a way that if we were to get married again, it would be what we would want. Being married, we already work well together and have been dubbed a “Great Team” by our clients and friends. Since we will be following you throughout your entire wedding day, it is important that you not only like our photos, but us as well.

Because this is our love and passion, we tend to take work home with us, but we don’t have a problem with it. We love what we do. How many jobs can you say are like that? We enjoy traveling the world together and we will travel wherever you have your special day to capture all those little moments that make your big day a special one.

So come meet us at our studio and get to know us more. We look forward to spending some time with you.

Hi, I’m Lucie.
I began life in the Czech Republic and grew up with the ambition to travel and take photos of everything around me. I lived in Scotland for a couple of years and also traveled all over Europe. Traveling and seeing new things is almost like an obsession for me. After my stint in Europe, I then came over to the USA to take care of little children as an Au Pair. At the same time I decided to study photography because I enjoyed it so much on a personal level. I soon graduated from the "New York Institute of Photography" majoring in Professional Photography. I also studied digital photography at DeAnza College in Cupertino, California which furthered my skills with the camera.

Amidst this busy life schedule, I met and married the best person in the world who now travels with me on my journeys. Together we started this site in order to transform my passions into my daily bread and butter.

Hi, I’m Sam.
I was born here in California and have lived here all my life. I enjoy traveling the roads less traveled and even those that don’t exist. I grew up appreciating the outdoor life with camping and exploring the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. I designed and built my own off-road vehicle to take me back into the deep trails where I could enjoy sights and sounds of those areas rarely seen.

Like Lucie, I also studied photography at De Anza College, but back before today’s standard digital photography existed. I switched to digital photography early on in the digital revolution though using it to quickly display my photos on my website. This became my little nitch in the off-road world as I traveled the States photographing and writing for professional rock crawling events and doing live web coverage for leading industry websites. Because I love having Lucie with me at all times, she started to join me on these adventures taking the photographs while I concentrated on the story telling.

As Lucie’s assistant, I work hard as her technical supporter and secondary photography at weddings and photoshoots. I get to lug around all the equipment and make sure everything runs smoothly so that Lucie can focus on the details of the weddings and not if her batteries need to be changed.

Third time's yet another charm.
This is an unprecedented 3 straight wins in album design. This month Lucie submitted her third album design into a competition and walked away with the gold. In this album design, Lucie chose to go with an all metallic page display. The images can almost come to life when using the metallic paper and when you combine that with the exciting photo display design, you get this award winning album. On the outside of the album, a new style cover was used with an embedded image of the couple within a triangle shape cut out. You can view images of this album here: Christina & Steven's Album. Like the others, this album is on display at the LucieXYZ studio.

Lucie wins "Best Album Design" AGAIN!!
Once again, Lucie has taken home top honors for her album design. This time the album was created around Angie and Justin's wedding shot at the Hotel Valencia at Santana Row. You can see the album page for page in the Gallery or go directly there now by clicking here: Angie & Justin's Album. The Album was printed on a textured pages with the cover of the album being overlayed with a transparent sheet to make the cover image really pop. This album is currently on display at the LucieXYZ Photography studio if you would like to get a closer look.

Lucie wins award for best designed album!
Amongst the best and most talented photographers and wedding album designers in the Bay Area, Lucie won the award for Best Designed Album at a recent PPGBA event. Competing against some amazing designs, Lucie's album embracing photos from Karena & Rossi's wedding rose above the rest to win the award. The photos were shot at the Palm Events Center Winery in Pleasanton, CA. Surrounded by amazing scenery, Lucie was able to capture the moments for the couple and give them an album that will be remembered and admired by many.

You can see all of the pages of the album here: Karena & Rossi's Album

Lucie wins PPGBA award for "an Angel's Gown"
At a recent PPGBA (Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area), Lucie won an award for this photo taken from a wedding, which was shot this last April.

The photo shows the elegant draping of the bride(Angie) and her gown as lit through the slats of the window louvers. The attention to light detail highlighting the light and dark tones really made the photo pop. A big thanks goes out to Angie for being such a beautiful bride and letting Lucie's photographic magic happen. This photo is currently on display at the LucieXYZ Photography studio.

LucieXYZ Published in Destination Weddings & Honeymoons
When you make your way over to your local book store, grocery store, or other magazine rack, be sure to check out page 64 of the Summer 2007 issue of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine. There you will find an article about a beatiful wedding we photographed in Riga, Latvia.

The photos were taken of a couple who live locally in the S.F. Bay Area of California. They flew to Riga Latvia, original home town of the bride, to be married in front of her family and friends with traditional and eccentric touches of wedding bliss. From placing a lock on a bridge, to being driven around in a stretched Hummer limo (the only one in the country at the time), to ending the ceremonies with their own private fireworks display. You can see some more of the shots of the wedding HERE. When we shot this wedding in Latvia, we flew straight to Scotland right after for another European wedding in the lush & beautiful setting of the wee village of Glenfarg.
